Stalwart Crafts | Personal project

Defined as being of outstanding strength and vigour, the name “Stalwart” encapsulates everything Tim De Ket wanted to create with his range of designer aprons and accessories.

As part of an immersive UX design bootcamp course, we were tasked with a project to enhance the functionality and user experience of the Stalwart Craft Aprons’ website. This was driven by the objective to create a more intuitive, engaging and seamless online journey for users. By meticulously analysing the existing website’s design, navigation and user interaction patterns, we sought to identify key areas for improvement.

The project harnessed a user-centered design approach, incorporating user research, usability testing and iterative design refinements, ensuring the final outcomes were not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional and tailored to meet the specific needs and expectations of Stalwart Craft Aprons’ diverse user base.

We assigned the following task to a peer group:

Imagine you are looking to buy yourself a leather apron for use in your cooking, your blacksmith business, barbers etc.

Initially before placing your order, you would like to see what each colour looks like on the apron you choose, so you can make an informed decision on which apron is most suitable for you. You might even wish to see some samples of the leather before making your decision.

Once you are at the checkout stage and about to pay, you decide you actually want to add another apron as a spare, or to order one for your partner. How would you do that?

Once you have completed your order, ask yourself the following:

1. Was is an easy process to look at multiple colour choices across the entire range of aprons, before making your informed decision for purchase?

2. Were you aware you can buy additional leather protection cream? how much was it?

3. Did you find it easy to add another apron when you were in the checkout?
